All enrolled students living in the Residence Halls are required to purchase a meal plan. Freshmen are required to live on campus and have the 19 meal plan. Students who have earned at least 36 credit hours may reduce their meal plan to 12 meals per week, and students who have earned at least 64 credit hours may reduce their meal plan to 7 meals per week or the 80 Block meal plan.

Dining Dollars is a declining balance account that can be used for purchases at all Samford University Dining facilities. All meal plan options come with Dining Dollars, these Dining Dollars expire at the end of each semester.
Additional Dining Dollars can be added to your account anytime during the academic school year; for orders over $100 you receive a 10% bonus. Additional Dining Dollars will roll over each semester and are good till the end of Summer semester. Additional Dining Dollars is a declining balance account that can be used for purchases at all Samford University Dining facilities.
Individuals who wish to add funds to Dining Dollars or Bulldog Bucks can do so through "GET."
Bulldog Bucks is a declining balance account that can be used for food, goods and services anywhere the Samford Card is accepted on Campus. Bulldog Bucks accounts are available to students, faculty and staff. Bulldog Bucks roll over from semester to semester.
If you are eating in The Caf you should use a Meal Swipe; we also accept credit, debit, Bulldog Bucks, Dining Dollars, and cash. If you are dining at any other location you can use Dining Dollars or Bulldog Bucks. The register will deduct money from the account in the following ways: Dining Dollars, Additional Dining Dollars, Bulldog Bucks.
No. You may not use another student's Samford Cars to purchase a meal. Meals are Meal Plan holder exclusive and cannot be used to purchase meals for other guest. You may use Dining Dollars to purchase food for any guest. Any Samford card that is used by another student other than the owner will be confiscated and turned into Public Safety.

All students must follow the meal plan requirements based on the number of credits earned, years of residency and location of residency. If you qualify for a smaller meal plan, you have until the first Friday after classes begin to make a reduction. You may add or increase a meal plan at any time. Call the Residence Life Office at 205-726-2956 to adjust your plan. If you have a medical condition with nutritional considerations, please contact Disability Services at 205-726-4078 for permission to alter meal plan requirements. Accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis to best ensure equal access to campus services.
The Caf features allergen-free dining. Free of the 8 most common allergens, including dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish and gluten; all Simple Servings dishes are delicious and nutritious.
